Gradation of Time over a Plane
1 - 10 July, 2011

“Gradations of Time over a Plane” focuses on the reflection and interpretation of the notion of Time, both as a symbolic dimension of reality and also as an abstract concept that relates to something which is non-material and that 'precedes materiality'. This project was initiated in spring 2010, with an extended period of observation, documentation, testing and intervention, during a trip to the region of Trás-os-Montes, in the north of Portugal, and was continued in different regions in the Netherlands and in Germany, ever since.

This artwork is being constituted in chapters, reflections and articulations from the experience given by the field work and the various material collected during those moments, combined with the interpretation and research of various perspectives on the relation between Man and the passing of time. These chapters, exist in various formats -HD video, super 8mm film, diapositives, objects and drawings, among others- and are non sequential but interdependent.

This exhibition was devised as an immersive installation piece comprising different personal conceptions and relations about time and the manifestation of its signs in different natural and man-made sceneries.
